About Me

Hello and Welcome!!!  My name is Abi Petrie.

I am a mommy, adoptive mommy, mommy of children with special needs,

foster parent, fur mommy and MS warrior.

Needless to say, my life is definitely unique and sometimes adventurous;

Some may say crazy, stressful or even wild; but I love it!

Where to begin?  I have a life that sometimes I can't believe is real! Once in awhile I stop and think, "Does anyone else go through this?" Or, sometimes I wish there was someone who could actually say that they really get it. That is why I have started this page. I want to share and receive ideas, tips, tricks, knowledge and experience for everything from having a MS diagnosis, children with special needs, being an adoptive parent and a foster parent.

Talking and learning are so important with any one of these in your life. And I have them all!  I have definitely learned and experienced a lot in this unique life of mine but there is always more to learn and room to grow. I learned a long time ago that we all need someone who has been there, understands how you feel, and just gets it. It can be hard to find that someone! People can say that they understand what you are feeling or going through but if you don't live it, that can be hard.

My hopes are to help be the one that gets it for you!

When it comes to challenges, I feel like I'm kind of a pro. There isn't much I haven't been through...both good and bad.

I have a story that for some doesn't seem real. My story is long, sometimes sad, frustrating and complicated, but I want to share it. I know that there are more people out there that are starting on or already on a journey that seems unreal and may feel alone. I've definitely been there. I found myself more than once asking, "Am I the only one that these things happen to?" or "Really, more to deal with!" A question that i have been asked a lot is, "How can one person go through so much?" My answer is always the same, "I just keep going!"

I know I am not alone. I know there are more people out there who need ideas, a little guidance, someone who's been there. So, let's connect, share ideas and help each other get through another day.
